Man, they had everything back in the '80s: The Coreys, John Hughes films, and even the popular Mexican fast food chain Naugles, that served things like the bun taco and the Ortega burger. Today we have one Corey, The Breakfast Club on DVD, and ... wait, good news! Naugles is coming back!

It's been 20 years since the doors of the last-remaining Naugles location closed, but finally, a die-hard Naugles fan is bringing the fast food chain back to life. Christian Ziebarth, a California-based web developer, has spent the last five years fighting for the rights to the Naugles trademark. Despite a lot of pushback from Del Taco, members of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board voted in Ziebarth's favor on March 31. Today, the first—of hopefully many—new Naugles local opened up in Fountain Valley, CA.

The chain was originally opened in 1970 by Dick Naugle, and by the mid '80s, Naugles had expanded beyond it's original location in Riverside, CA, to over 200 new franchise locations. In 1988, Del Taco bought out the restaurant's owner, but the merger only lasted about seven years, until the last Naugles local closed in 1995.

According to NauglesTacos.com, the original Naugles boasted both a Mexican and American kitchen. So basically, you could get whatever you were craving, whenever you were craving it, and Naugles should've come back years ago ... like in 1996. But whatever, it's here now and we should all be fiesta-ing. More Mexican restaurants is more, right?

Ziebarth has supposedly recreated the entire OG Naugles menu, so all fans of the brand can rest assured that this comeback is the real deal.
