We're all obsessed with Chick-fil-A at Delish (how could you not be a fan of their waffle fries?!), but not so into the company's political stance. Sadly, one bite of their chicken sandwich and we're launched into such chicken bliss that all we can think about is having another. Same for our friend Melina Kemph, who makes her own version at home. "I started making it myself four years ago because I couldn't get Chick-fil-A in NYC before the first location opened," she says. "It's not like I'm making it every day, but when the craving hits (usually a Sunday), I have to have it."

When we heard that she was the master of Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches, we told her she needed to come in immediately and make it for us. So she did. And we died. The sandwich coating has one secret ingredient you'd never guess: powdered sugar! That's what giving the chicken breading its totally addictive flavor. Melina also adds a secret ingredient of her own: a splash of pickle juice. "It's that balance of sweet and salty that I'm always looking for," she says.

TBH, the frying of the chicken is the most annoying part of the process. Mainly, because frying anything is kind of a pain. But once you have perfectly golden chicken breasts, the rest of assembly is super simple: Butter and toast buns and add sliced pickles.
